29 April - 11 June 2016
BT&C Gallery presents Jack Drummer, a survey exhibition of works by the late John E. (aka “Jack”) Drummer (1935-2013). The exhibition opens Friday, April 29th with a public reception 6-9 pm and will run through June 11th, 2016. A BT&C sponsored “pop-up” installation of Drummer’s work is also planned for the second weekend in June at Silo City. More details on the Silo City installation to be announced. BT&C gallery hours are Fridays and Saturdays 12-5pm, or anytime by appointment (716-604-6183).
This exhibition was organized as a companion show to Jack Drummer: The Effects of Time, curated by Scott Propeack and now on view at the Burchfield Penney Art Center through June 12, 2016 (for more information visit www.burchfieldpenney.org). A full color catalogue with an essay by Douglas Dreishpoon, Chief Curator Emeritus, Albright-Knox Art Gallery is being published for the occasion of the Burchfield Penney’s exhibition.
Included in both exhibitions at BT&C and the Burchfield Penney are works by Drummer that span from the 1980s through to the artist’s death in 2013. This is a rare opportunity to see a representative collection of Drummer’s oeuvre at two locations, with some of Drummer’s most monumental compositions on view in the main gallery at the Burchfield Penney.
